> Designing a goal-based savings and bill-reminder app for iOS and Android: named goals with dates, bills set aside early, and money held by a partner.

People rarely fail to save because they lack an app. They fail because everything sits in one pot and bills arrive as surprises. A savings app should split the pot into goals with names and dates.

- **Services:** UI/UX Design · Mobile Development
- **Industry:** Fintech
- **Timeline:** Roughly 3–6 months, depending on the partner's integration

## Who it’s for

Banks, e-wallets and fintech teams adding a savings product, and founders building a budgeting app on top of a regulated partner.

## Features

**Must have**

- Goals with a name, a target amount and a date
- Bills set up as small goals of their own
- Reminders scheduled from each bill's due date
- A clear view of what is set aside and what is free to spend
- Moving money in and out of a goal, with a check before early withdrawal
- Account security and sign-in suited to money

**Nice to have**

- Shared goals for households
- Automatic top-ups on payday
- Progress history for each goal
- Gentle nudges when a goal falls behind

## Screens and flows

1. Onboarding and sign-in
2. Overview of goals and bills
3. Create a goal
4. A goal's detail and history
5. Bills and their reminder dates
6. Move money in or out

## Platform options

- **iOS and Android from one codebase.** Savings users are spread across both phones. One cross-platform codebase keeps both apps in step, which is how Savings Wallet is planned.
- **Design only, for an existing app.** If your team already has an app and engineers, we can design the savings flows and hand over a prototype and design system for them to build.

## Integrations

- A partner bank or e-wallet that holds the money
- Local notifications scheduled from bill dates

## How we'd approach it

The core idea is that money saved in one pot gets spent from one pot. So every amount set aside gets a name and a date, and the overview shows what's free to spend once goals and bills are covered.

Bills are treated as goals, not alerts. Most land on the same day each month, so the app can set the money aside ahead of time and the reminder becomes a confirmation, not a surprise.

Savings Wallet is a studio concept, not client work. It's how we'd design a savings product today; a real build would depend on the partner holding the money.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the app hold the money itself?

No. In the way we'd design it, a partner bank or e-wallet holds the money and the app organises it into goals. Holding funds yourself brings licensing questions we'd want answered before design starts.

### Can you design it without building it?

Yes. UI/UX design is a service on its own. We'd deliver the flows, a clickable prototype and the design system for your engineers.

### What should a savings app measure after launch?

For Savings Wallet we'd watch goals still funded after three months, bills fully set aside before their reminder, and early withdrawals from a goal.
