A patient opens a clinic app for one reason: to know when to show up. We design and build iOS and Android apps around that moment, with the clinic's desk on the other end of every screen.

## What health teams run into

- **Patients who can't see the line.** Without a view of the queue, people come early and sit for an hour. A live queue number on their phone lets them wait somewhere else.
- **Missed slots nobody hears about.** A booking made a week ago is easy to forget. A reminder at the right time, with a one-tap cancel, frees the slot for someone else.
- **Every patient is a different user.** Clinic apps are opened by teenagers and grandparents, sometimes on behalf of each other. Large type, plain words and booking for a family member matter.
- **The desk and the app disagree.** If staff and patients see different numbers, trust goes. The desk needs a simple screen that drives what the app shows.

## Constraints we design for

- **App store health policies.** Apple and Google review health apps more closely, including what the app claims and how it handles health data. Store listings and privacy disclosures need care before submission.
- **Health data under UU PDP.** Indonesian law treats health information as a specific category of personal data. The app should collect the minimum, and notifications shouldn't show a diagnosis on a lock screen.
- **The clinic's own records.** Clinic systems in Indonesia increasingly report to SATUSEHAT. A patient app shouldn't duplicate the medical record; it should sit beside the clinic's system.

## Features that keep coming up

- A live queue number that updates on its own
- A notification when it's time to leave
- Booking by doctor, clinic and time slot
- Bookings for family members
- Reminders with one-tap cancel and reschedule
- A desk screen that calls the next number
- Clinic locations and opening hours

## Typical builds

- [Clinic queue app development](https://goodtogrid.com/solutions/clinic-queue-app) — A phone app that shows a patient's place in the clinic queue and tells them when to set off.
- [Booking app design and development](https://goodtogrid.com/solutions/booking-app) — Appointment booking with live availability, reminders and a staff view of the day.

## How we approach it

We design the patient app from the waiting room backwards. The question everyone asks the desk is “how long?”, so in the Clinic Queue App concept the queue number is the interface: the first thing on screen, live, with a push when it's time to leave.

The app is only half the product. Staff need a simple web view at the desk that calls the next number, and that screen is designed alongside the app so both always show the same thing.

We build these apps in React Native, one codebase for iOS and Android. Our clinic work on the web side, Rekamedika, shapes what we ask about first: who handles the desk, what happens when a doctor runs late, and what the patient needs to bring.

## Frequently asked questions

### Have you built a clinic app for a client?

Not a patient app yet. Clinic Queue App is a studio concept. Our client work in health is Rekamedika, a medical records web app for clinics, which is where our understanding of the clinic day comes from.

### Does the app replace our clinic system?

No. It handles booking and the queue from the patient's side. Records stay in the clinic's own system, and the app reads queue status from it or from a small desk screen.

### Can it work for a clinic network?

Yes. The Clinic Queue App concept is designed for a network of clinics sharing one booking system, so patients pick the location first.
